Back To School: Essential Study Kit

Last week I posted about back to school essentials to have in general. This week, in accordance with the organization theme with the Bloggers Back to School, I’m sharing a study kit I got from my grad party from some good friends of mine!

Everyone needs the essentials. Click through to find out my must haves for college. IMG_0617Inside the package is all the little things you wouldn’t think of…until that moment that you need them.IMG_0613Tic Tacs aren’t necessarily considered a study essential, but who doesn’t like having a mint handy anyway? Fun fact: every time I took an assessment in elementary school, my teachers always handed out mints before. They’re actually proven to help boost your memory! If you eat a mint while studying, then eat another right before a test, your brain is more likely to associate that flavor with the topic you’re studying. And hey, whatever works, right?

Along with Tic Tacs, I have command hooks, otherwise known as the holy grail of the dorm. I have three more packs downstairs along with these! A mini stapler always helps, and staples to go along with it are a must have.

I also have mini post it notes (the rainbow stack). Last year, I found these most helpful for bookmarking different chapters when taking notes so I could flip back and forth. Also included are extra erasers, a pencil sharpener, and the planner girl’s dream: washi tape. I have about 20 something rolls of washi tape now and use them for absolutely everything!
IMG_0615It depends on whether you’re a paper or a digital kind of person, but I know I’ll use push pins or magnets to stick up random things to remember about campus events, like flyers and such. It wouldn’t hurt to stick my A+ paper on the bulletin board for a little motivation as well 😉

Paper clips also work great as bookmarking pages, and the thicker kind of clips are perfect for bigger amounts of papers. Rubber bands are always handy for keeping the little things together until you can find a more permanent repair, and good erasers and lead are essential for the paper-and-pen notetaker.

More post-it flags! They’re called essentials for a reason. And of course, an array of pens and pencils are always necessary. I prefer Staedtler pens the most, but Papermate Inkjoys come close behind.

Not pictured (aka what wouldn’t fit) is a pair of scissors and a ruler. These will definitely be making a home in my desk as well!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is magnificent blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.|
